Brute Force (Nick Stone, #11) by Andy McNab

It’s a risk he’s willing to take – since only the mnab who is about to die will see him. One earns him money, mnab other earns him respect from the gang that he calls family. I’ve read a lot of Thrillers over the years, but none like this one. Who knows his movements?

On holiday in Ireland, he finds a bomb under the car, removes it, and takes it apart to analyze it.

Overseeing the soldiers is John Porter: Books by Andy McNab. In Northern Ireland he spent two years working as an undercover operator with 14th Intelligence Group, going on to become an instructor.

Eight members of the SAS regiment embark upon a top-secret mission to infiltrate deep behind enemy lines. It is action packed fast and furious.

I’m glad to know that he is a trainer, as he possesses a rare talent of explanation. Once again Andy McNab writes a great book.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in getting into the thriller genre, because you’ll never leave it. Who wants him dead, and why? Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man – a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away.

Realy enjoyed this book, was very detailed without being overly complicated with military jargon. Nick Stone fans will not be dissappointed.

I really enjoyed the technical side as well as the various ways the protagonists worked together to avoid being caught. Devoid of the sub-plots linking the previous books the hide and seek nature of the series feels more prominent.

Chris Ryan Narrated by: Trivia About Brute Force Nick This part, incidentally, is fascinating. In he was badged as a member of 22 SAS Regiment.

Brute Force

Ex-special forces soldier Nick Stone is recuperating in Switzerland. Semi-retired but restless, Stone finds himself at the centre of an extraordinary encounter which turns his world upside down.

His team is attacked and a man dies — but not before he makes an agonising promise that will return one day to haunt him The trail leads from Iraq to London, Dublin, and Kabul – the brutal city where kcnab, terrorism and big business collide.

Could you live with yourself? This book is great and features many delicious details about life as a covert operative only an sndy special forces trooper would know.

Among that, he still managed to weave gripping stories, with a cast that I care about and one of the few rare leads that I truly “get”. He served in B Squadron 22 SAS for ten years and worked on both covert and overt special operations worldwide, including anti-terrorist and anti-drug operations in the Middle and Far East, South and Central America and Northern Ireland. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. I wish I could put it as straightforwardly as “Kelly arc” and “post-Kelly arc”, but that wouldn’t be accurate either.

Infiltrate the hostile, violent republic of Algeria, kill a money-laundering businessman, and bring back his severed head. The writing is clear, clipped and draws in the reader better than any other writing in this genre.

An attempt is made on his life while he holidays in Ireland, this leads him to his old MI6 boss and then on to Italy before the chase lands in Libya as it hurtles towards its expected dramatic conclusion. I am definitely going to be reading more of his books.

Another excellent book in the Nick Stone series.
